I am really enjoying artefact so far because I love art! I really enjoy drawing and making things so I think this module is really good for me. I can’t wait to meet the people from the shop I am working with and start work on designing the shoe for their shop.

LO4:How am I getting on? - Campaign
I think I am getting on well with the tasks given so far. I am a confident person so I don't mind speaking aloud and making phone calls which I think is key for the campaign module. I am looking forward to working with the individual charity shops and am enjoying it all so far.

Learning Objective 4 - Campaign
Throughout the process of planning and creating my artefact I must regularly monitor my own activity and examine my achievements and aims.
I must ask myself, am I achieving what I set out to achieve? If not, why not?
I will need to:
o Examine where I succeed and where I don’t
o Consider my areas for improvement
o Alter my intentions and plans where necessary in order to achieve my aims
At the end of the project I should think about what I have learnt and how I can put this learning into use for the next project.

Phone call to needlework shop ♥
Today I made a phone call to a local needlework shop because we will be designing a shoe to go in their shop window. I made the call feeling confident because I don’t mind public speaking. In the phone call i introduced myself and explained why i was ringing, I then went further to arrange a date to meet for next week.

LO1: Campaign - Charity Shops
We have just watched a video clip of 'Mary Queen of Charity Shops' to start off our campaign of helping charity shop in our area.
I was very suprised that only 1/4 of the donations the charity shops are given can be used and the rest of the donations the charity shop has to throw out themselves which costs them money. On average one bin that the charity shop throws out costs them £45! This is out of the volenteers money!
Some of the things people donated included mouldy bras and old nappies. People have been throwing out there junk that can never be sold to charity shops rather than throwing it into their own bins because they can't be bothered.
Our campaign is to improve charity shops in our area by creating leaflets, posters, a tv advert and a radio broadcast.
Our aim is to get people of our age (13 - 20yrs) to get donating their old clothes to charity shops to get the charity shops more buissiness.

Campaign
In campaign we had to chose a campaign to support. I saw an advert for Dogs Trust so decided to chose that campaign. We worked in groups, disscussing all of our chosen campaigns. In our group there were 3 government run campaigns and 1 charity campaign. Then we had to choose what campaign to continue with choosing a new slogan for it and some ways to campaign for the charity. We finally decided to carry on with my chosen campaign Dogs Trust, choosing the new slogan: You wouldn't neglect a friend, why neglect your dog?

My Summary of Artefact, Campaign and Performance
Homework ♥
This year on the creative and media course we will investigate and understand campaigns, including how they work and how to create a successful campaign.
We will also be looking at artefacts, why they are made and what they are for, including creating an artefact of our own.
Finally, in the Performance module we will discover how perfomances have developed through time depending on the audiences needs.
